COVID-19 Updates

Last updated: Tuesday, March 30th, 2021

At Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties, the safety and well being of our staff, homeowners, and supporters are a top priority. We are closely monitoring all of the breaking developments and following guidance from both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We will continue to provide updates on the measures our affiliate is taking.

*Our offices and construction sites remain closed to the public. Habitat staff are available by email, phone and by appointment.

*All volunteer opportunities will continue to be postponed.

*ReStore locations are open for shoppers and donors! Contactless donation pick-ups are available by appointment. Drop off donations are now accepted at the Clearwater and New Port Richey locations between 10 am and 3 pm.

We understand the situation is evolving daily, so for additional guidance on COVID-19, please visit the Centers for Disease Control’s website for their latest reports. Please continue to stay engaged with us on social media and on our website as we will provide updates on dedications, volunteer opportunities and events.

Habitat Offices

Habitat offices are currently closed to the public. Homeowners and Homeowner Candidates with questions regarding mortgages, how to make their payments or the homeownership program can call the Homeowner Hotline at (727) 209-2196.

ReStores

All ReStore locations are open to the public with continued safety measures and guidelines for shoppers and staff. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 AM – 4 PM.  Donations are being accepted via contactless pick-up only. Drop off donations are not being accepted. To protect donors and our team, ReStore staff will not enter a home. Items need to be in the garage, on the porch or carport.

Homeownership Program & Home Dedications

Our homeownership program continues to partner with local families and individuals to help make their homeownership dreams a reality. Dedications will be streamed live on our Facebook page. To see upcoming dedications, click here.

To our Homeowners and Homeowner Candidates: Habitat Homeowners and Homeowner Candidates with questions regarding mortgages or the homeownership program can call the Homeowner Hotline at (727) 209-2196. Please leave a detailed message and we will get back with you within 24 hours.

Please also be on the lookout for emails from us and check your spam to make sure you aren’t missing something important.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Habitat for Humanity. After almost a year without them on our construction sites and ReStores, we are excited to have volunteers back – in a limited and safe capacity due to COVID. The first phase is specifically for our Homeowner Candidates who are accruing sweat equity towards the homeownership program requirements as well as sponsoring partners. Since last March, candidates in the program have been completing their 350-450 sweat equity hours digitally. Now, with safety protocols in place and limited capacity opportunities, Homeowner Candidates and home sponsors will be able to complete limited hours on a build site.

As phase two begins, we will be communicating to volunteers outside of those two groups. If you would like to learn more about these opportunities as they arise, please contact Brittney Keene, Program Recruitment Manager at bkeene@habitatpwp.org or 727-536-4755, Ext. 232.

#HousingIsEssential

A stable place to call home is essential to protecting your family and your community from coronavirus. That’s why Habitat organizations are working to ensure individuals and families have a stable place to call home during this health crisis.

We’ve joined other nonprofits in asking Congress for much needed #Relief4Charities to ensure we can continue to serve our communities and increase access to stable and affordable homes. Join us in asking Congress to prioritize further support for nonprofits so we can continue to ensure housing stability. Learn more.
