Homeowner Bio: THE Hidri FAMILY

“A Habitat home would not just be a house for us, but a foundation for dignity, security, and hope.”

Liman Hidri is a Quality Technician at Bausch and Lomb, where he has worked for almost four years. Liman came to the United States and began working in manufacturing, where his dedication and reliability were quickly recognized. After just one year, he was promoted to his current role, and he remains committed to continuing his professional growth. His wife, Blerta, works as an Assistant Teacher, and together they are focused on building a better life for their family rooted in hard work, education, and mutual support. Their daughter, Ayra, 1, is the light of their home and the reason behind everything they do.

Liman and Blerta dream of giving her a childhood filled with security, love, and opportunities to grow. The family’s housing journey has been far from easy. Liman currently pays more than 50 percent of his income toward rent, leaving little room to cover other essential living expenses. Their home was also severely affected by flooding during the last hurricane. Contaminated water entered their living space while Ayra was only two months old, creating serious health and safety concerns. Since then, Liman has been constantly worried about mold, air quality, and providing a safe environment for his daughter.

When Liman learned his family was accepted into the Habitat program, he felt a wave of relief. For the Hidris, a Habitat home represents far more than four walls. “A Habitat home would not just be a house for us, but a foundation for dignity, security, and hope,” Liman says. He looks forward to creating happy memories with his family, spending quality time together, and knowing they finally have a place to call their own.
