Homeowner Bio: The Brown Family

“My girls and I will finally have our home — no more tears of defeat.”

Shayla Brown is a hard-working mother of three daughters—Kameren, Saniya, and Morgan—and a role model to her younger siblings. Growing up as the third oldest of eight children, she learned responsibility early on and now works hard to create stability for her own family.

Her daughters each bring their own spark. Kameren has a love for fashion and 90’s R&B, something she and her mom bond over. Saniya enjoys Minecraft, reading, and following in her big sister’s footsteps, while Morgan is an energetic self-taught gymnast who loves to tumble around the house. Together, they fill their family with love, laughter, and creativity.

When rising rent costs forced them into small temporary space, Shayla’s determination never wavered. “Still keeping my children’s best interest first, I continue to work hard to provide the best security and structure for my girls, hoping one day I can provide them with their own home and space to create endless memories.” That dream became reality when she was accepted into the Habitat program. “My very first thought was, yessss, we’re finally good enough to have a home.”

Shayla looks forward to decorating and cooking in a bigger kitchen with her family, knowing their new house will be “blessed and favored by the man upstairs.” For her, this home is more than walls—it’s a promise of stability and proof to her daughters that with faith and hard work, anything is possible.
