Homeowner Bio: The Rosario Family

“I am building because I want to provide security for my daughters. A home they can always come to.”

After 15 years of working as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician, Leslie Rosario knows a thing or two about focus—and not just in the medical sense. A devoted single mother of two daughters, Lytseli (19) and Lynnae (14), Leslie has focused her life around her faith, her family, and building a stable, joyful future for them all.

“I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ,” Leslie shares. “I am a hard worker, dedicated to my family and I love hard. My daughters are everything to me.” Together, the trio fills their days with laughter, movie nights, baking, and worship at church every Sunday. Even when money is tight, Leslie finds ways to make home feel like a sanctuary—whether that’s baking cookies with Lynnae, organizing game nights, or shopping and cooking with Lytseli.

But behind the warmth of their family life lies a financial burden that’s been difficult to manage. The cost of rent has soared beyond reach, and despite exhaustive searches for affordable housing, Leslie was forced to renew an unaffordable lease in August 2024. “My monthly income is just enough to pay rent, bills, and buy a little bit of groceries,” she explains. Still, her spirit never broke. And when she found out she’d been accepted into the Habitat for Humanity homeownership program, her reaction was pure joy and praise.

Looking ahead, Leslie dreams of a life that’s secure, peaceful, and rooted in love. “My house will be a place of love welcomed with the presence and peace of God,” she says. “Home is where we are together.” With a stable, affordable home, she hopes to spend less time worrying and more time simply enjoying life with her daughters.
