“Our house will be a warm, welcoming sanctuary.”
For Mohammad Sulaiman and his wife, Hanan AbdulRazzaq, the American dream is about more than just owning a home — it’s about creating a safe and stable place where their children can grow, flourish, and build meaningful lives. Originally from overseas, the Sulaiman family has spent the last eight years in the United States working tirelessly to lay the foundation for a better future. Now, through the Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Program, they’re one step closer to making that dream a reality.
“We’re renting a small apartment that just doesn’t meet our family’s needs,” Mohammad shared. “It’s crowded, uncomfortable, and puts a strain on everything — from our privacy to our finances.” With four children ranging from high school to college age, the lack of space has taken a toll on the family’s daily life. “We want our children to have their own space to study, relax, and grow,” Hanan added. “This opportunity means so much to us.”
Their children each bring something unique to the family. Reem, their eldest daughter, recently earned her bachelor’s degree and is studying for her graduate admissions exam. Bana is pursuing a dental hygiene program, while Lana and Mousa — both in high school — are passionate about video games, fitness, and technology. “We’re proud of our kids,” said Mohammad. “They’re dedicated and full of potential. We want to give them the home they deserve.”
When asked what advice he would give to someone thinking of volunteering with Habitat, Mohammad responded passionately: “You’ll be making a real difference. You’re not just building houses—you’re building futures. The impact of your work lasts for generations.” The family is looking forward to the peace, comfort, and pride that will come with having a permanent home. “A place filled with love, memories, and hope.” Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and be part of something extraordinary.
