Positivity Update: Chris & Amanda Resa

Here at Habitat, we understand that these uncertain times can be difficult for everyone. Many are homebound for the upcoming weeks, which leaves a lot of our families facing tough challenges. However, others are making the best of the situation and finding ways to stay positive. We will be sharing updates that our homeowner candidates shared about how their families are staying positive during this time.

The Resa family is not letting these changing times at home keep them down. “We have done some fun things already! We went fishing and swimming at a friend’s house, walked with our sweet neighbor, and repurposed a porch swing into a future herb garden home.”

While snacking on their favorite trail mix, they have been enjoying games such as Candy Land, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and Paw Patrol Memory. The family has all loved the extra reading time they have, and have included it in their “me” time along with various other activities. Chris has loved bible reading and praying, creating things from wood, and grilling for his family. Amanda has loved bible reading and praying, reading, walking, organizing, and staying in touch with friends via text. Their son, Gabe, has been playing with toys, playing in the water and watching movies.

The family has been very conscious of their community, checking in on friends and neighbors to make sure they are doing well. They are just starting their Habitat journey, but are not letting anything discourage them. “We have officially been Homeowner Candidates for a month and have been loving it. Since the virus and everything has shut down they have been in constant communication with us. Always willing to help us and communicate with us. They have been great cheerleaders and encouragers through this whole program. They are a great Godly organization that has a heart to see every day and even overlooked people succeed, and have hope even when it doesn’t look like there is any.”
