Elisa Wilson, a dedicated single mother of three boys, is working tirelessly to provide her children with the stability and security they deserve. As a medical records professional at The Springs at Boca Ciega Bay, Elisa has been committed to her career for 17 years, balancing work and motherhood with resilience and determination. “Being a mother to Jason, Kingston, and Alakai is my greatest gift,” she shares. Her eldest son, Jason (23), has already started his independent journey, while 8-year-old Kingston dreams of football greatness and enjoys learning new things, and Alakai (2) loves exploring the outdoors and reading books.
Life hasn’t been easy for Elisa and her family. Living in a home plagued with plumbing issues and an unreliable air-conditioning system has been especially challenging. “When the air-conditioning stops working, it takes days to fix, and it’s hard on my youngest son, who has eczema. The heat causes severe flare-ups,” Elisa explains. The lack of space has also made things difficult, as her kids don’t have their own rooms. “It’s not just about having a roof over our heads. I want my children to have a safe, comfortable place to grow and thrive,” she adds.
When Elisa found out she was accepted into the Habitat for Humanity program, she was overwhelmed with gratitude. “I felt so blessed and thankful. This is the opportunity I’ve been praying for,” she says.
Elisa envisions a brighter future for her family in their new Habitat home. “I’m most looking forward to giving my kids their own rooms, decorating how we want, and having an energy-efficient home,” she says. For Elisa, this home represents stability, independence, and the chance to build lasting memories with her children. “Home is where love resides and memories are created. It’s a place my kids can always come back to, even when they’re adults,” she says proudly. Elisa is determined to break generational barriers as the first in her family to own a home.
