Homeowner Bio: The Weeks Family

“I am building because I am in need of a cost- effect home ownership and to achieve my goal of becoming a homeowner.”

Steven Weeks has been an HVAC Mechanic Journeyman for the Pinellas County School Board for the past 10 years. He has lived in Pinellas County his whole life. He is 32-years- old and the oldest of 4 children. Steven is very family- oriented and enjoys all that Florida has to offer: Hunting, fishing and other water activities.

Steven is sharing a single- family home with 8 other of his family members.  He dreams of being a homeowner for himself. However, like so many others, his financial situation is holding him back. He hopes to create memories with a family of his own in his own home, but is unable to with the current economy and housing market.

Steven imagines a life of independence following is acceptance into the Habitat program. He hopes for the opportunity to form familial memories and find financial stability and security. “Habitat for Humanity is my opportunity to achieve my goals of family and home ownership” Steven tells us.
