“There is no greater feeling than owning something and knowing that you actually had a hand in making happen.”
For Britney Rozier, a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse and Pharmacy Technician, creating a safe and stable home for her three children has always been a driving force. Working at both Walmart Pharmacy and All Children’s Hospital, Britney balances two jobs with grace and determination. “I’ve been working so hard and sacrificing a lot these past few years,” she said. “I just can’t wait to see the benefit of it.”
Britney’s family — 13-year-old Taishaun, 10-year-old De’Azhiah, and 3-year-old Tailor — is close-knit and adventurous. “We all enjoy traveling and doing new things together,” she shared. But their current two-bedroom apartment has become too small as her children grow, and ongoing maintenance issues have even affected Taishaun’s health. “Due to certain conditions of the apartment that haven’t been fixed correctly, my oldest son is experiencing allergy symptoms we can’t manage effectively,” Britney explained.
After hearing about Habitat for Humanity eight years ago during a difficult time in her life, Britney saw it as a beacon of hope. Though she didn’t qualify then, she tried again once she was more financially stable — and was accepted. “It felt heaven-sent,” she said. “My children deserve this. I’m building because I want them to be safe, at peace, and happy.”
Looking ahead, Britney imagines a life with more stability and more time to spend with her children. “There is no greater feeling than owning something and knowing that you actually had a hand in making it happen.”
With gratitude for Habitat for Humanity, Britney urges others to take the leap. “Never give up,” she said. “You may be closer to the goal than you think.” Help families like Britney’s build the stability they deserve — donate to Habitat for Humanity today.
