“I’m looking forward to the memories we’ll create in our new home.”
Diandra Romero is an Authorization Specialist at Tampa General Hospital, where she has worked for the past three years. She also works part time as a Facilitator at IVA Christian School. Diandra attended Southeastern University and describes herself as hardworking, loving, and determined. Becoming a mother has changed her life in the most positive ways and has motivated her to build a stable and successful future for herself and her son.
Reyden, less than one-year old, is the center of Diandra’s world. Even at his young age, he already has a happy personality and is reaching milestones every day. Together, they enjoy going on walks, playing, and creating a strong bond as a small family. “Most of my time is focused on caring for him, helping him grow, and making sure he feels loved and supported every day,” Diandra shares. As a family, it is mainly just the two of them, and that closeness has made their connection even stronger.
Right now, Diandra and Reyden are living in her grandparents’ living room. The house is overcrowded, and as Reyden continues to grow, the need for their own space becomes more urgent. Diandra knows her son deserves a stable environment where he can thrive, and she has been determined to make that happen.
When Diandra learned she was accepted into the Habitat program, her reaction said it all: “What a blessing!” For Diandra, a Habitat home means the chance to watch her son grow up in a stable environment and to create lasting memories together. She is building because she wants a better future for her family, and she envisions a home that is blessed, wonderful, and full of love. “I’m looking forward to the memories I’ll create in there,” she says.
