Homeowner Bio: The Rivera Family

“Home is where I feel safe, stable and secure.”

Cassandra D. Rivera is a dedicated mother of four who works full time as a Dental Assistant at Aspen Dental in Largo. She graduated from dental school in 2021, earning both her Dental Assistant and X‑Ray certifications, and she brings the same care, focus, and compassion to her work that she brings to raising her children. Cassandra spends long days on her feet in a fast‑paced dental office, and she values the importance of quality time with her family whenever she’s home.

Family is at the heart of Cassandra’s life. Her oldest son, Drayden, 11, has a deep love for collecting everything from Pokémon cards to quarters. Braxdon, 10, is energetic and fun‑loving, happiest riding his electric scooter, playing Roblox, and enjoying his favorite treats. Aaliyah, 9, loves being outdoors, dancing, practicing gymnastics flips, and experimenting with hair and makeup. The youngest, Braislee, 2, adores animals, playgrounds, and trips to the beach and pool. As a family, they love being outside together and even spending quiet moments looking at the moon and stars.

Currently, Cassandra and her children live in a shared home with extended family, where space is extremely limited. The house is overcrowded, and her daughters do not have a bedroom of their own. Cassandra doesn’t have a living room to relax in after long workdays, and privacy is scarce for everyone. Sharing one kitchen between two families makes everyday routines difficult, and the lack of space makes it hard for her children to truly be themselves. While she is grateful to have a roof over their heads, Cassandra knows her family needs more room, safety, and stability to thrive.

When Cassandra learned she was accepted into the Habitat for Humanity program, she was overwhelmed with emotion. For Cassandra, a Habitat home represents far more than a house—it’s a forever home, a place of peace, and a foundation she can pass down to her children and future generations. “This is a dream come true,” she shares. “A clean, safe, spacious home where I can raise my children, relax after a long day, and finally build the life I’ve been praying for.”
