Homeowner Bio: The Jue Family

“I imagine a life full of goals and dreams being worked on and accomplished while having a place to call home at night after a hard day’s of work!”

Elizabeth Jue is an Insurance Agent at Amerilife and a single mother to her 8-year-old son, Ethan and her daughter, Elsa, who was born in November of 2022. Elizabeth feels blessed to have joined the Habitat family as a Homeowner Candidate. She and her son enjoy spending time outdoors, going on bike rides, and taking visits to amusement parks.

Before applying to the Habitat program, the Jue family lived in unstable housing with a negligent landlord and maintenance issues. “This is challenging for my family because we want to stay consistent in the location for my son’s schooling,” Elizabeth explains. “But we have to sacrifice our living conditions in doing so.” Her first thoughts when she learned she was accepted into the Habitat program were ‘I CAN DO THIS!’. “I know this program is challenging,” she says. “But perseverance will help my ‘I think I can’ attitude into a confident ‘I know I can’. I thrive for my family!”

In their new home, Elizabeth is most looking forward to planting flowers. “My house will be a temple for relaxation, energy, and zen.” For more information on how to apply or refer a friend to the Habitat program, please visit our Apply Page on our website.

“Habitat for Humanity is empathetic. Proving and giving for those who can earn and achieve all they are capable of and opens doors for opportunities that may not be as easy to accomplish with unnecessary worry, stress in living conditions.”
