Homeowner Bio: The Glazman Family

“Habitat for Humanity is an opportunity to live a dream that I never thought would be a reality.”

Robyn, a dedicated behavior specialist, will soon become a homeowner with help from the Habitat for Humanity program. With two children—her daughter Iyla (8) and her son Otis (4)—she is determined to provide a stable and loving home for her family. Iyla is passionate about dinosaurs, arts and crafts, and reading. She participates in multiple sports, including track, lacrosse, and swimming, with a particular talent for the latter. Otis, on the other hand, loves monster trucks, Marvel superheroes, and cheering for his sister at her events.

Currently living with her mother in a cramped and makeshift bedroom situation, Robyn dreams of a better future. “My children deserve their own space, especially with my daughter getting older,” she says. “It’s challenging not having a door on my bedroom, but as a mom, privacy is a luxury we often forgo.”

Finding out she was accepted into the Habitat for Humanity program was a moment of shock and joy for Robyn. “I never thought I would be able to provide my children with a home as a single mother,” she shares. In the program, she has taken several educational classes that have been both eye-opening and informative. “I’m learning a lot about myself, my spending habits, and recognizing areas where I need more discipline.”

Robyn envisions a brighter future in her new home. “This home will provide my children with their own rooms and space to be in,” she explains. “I look forward to hosting family dinners, birthday parties, and just having friends over.” For Robyn, having a stable home means much more than just a roof over their heads; it represents a foundation for lasting memories, love, and security. “My house will be filled with memories, love, laughter, chaos, and all that comes with having children and truly just living life!”

Habitat’s mission would not be possible without the support of our volunteers. Each of our homes takes roughly 1,000 volunteer hours to build. If you would like to volunteer on one of our build sites or at one of our events, please visit our Volunteer Page for more information.
