“I want somewhere my family can come together.”
Herbert Echols has worked for Pinellas County Schools for more than 13 years as a Head Plant Operator. He is proud to be a hardworking father who keeps life grounded and steady for his children. While Herbert describes himself as laid back and reserved, his kids are full of energy and bring joy and personality into every day.
Sara, the oldest, loves cooking and spending time with her friends. Twins Emerie and London, both 13, balance each other out—Emerie with her passion for shoes and food, and London with his love of baseball and Roblox. Together, the three keep life busy, fun, and full of laughter.
For years, Herbert and his children have lived in a space that is too small for them to truly spread out and feel comfortable. He knows that having a Habitat home will change everything. “I want somewhere my family can come together, and also have our own space where everyone can decompress on days we don’t feel like being around people.”
Herbert imagines a future where his children have stability, their own rooms, and the space to pursue their passions. For him, the greatest reward will be creating memories in a home filled with “love and great energy” and knowing his family finally has a place to belong.
