Homeowner Bio: The Bradley Family

“Habitat is giving me the opportunity to finally have a home.”

Amber Bradley is a Client Service Manager at Caring People. She is also the mom of three children – Aaliyah (15), Amari (12), and Amoura (4). Aaliyah is described as a “girly girl” who loves to sing, dance, and cheer. Amari is a typical boy who is all about sports. He loves football, basketball, and fishing.  Amoura is the baby of the bunch, and she is currently in her first year of dance school.

Amber puts all of her energy into her kids. She wants them to have everything the world has to offer. The biggest thing she has been struggling with is providing that stable place to call home. “We have experienced a few hardships over the last five years,” said Amber. “But we are still very blessed.” Since the pandemic, Amber and her family have had to move around a bit. Their current home is in bad condition with dangerous electrical issues and cracks throughout the foundation. “It’s just becoming horrible and unsafe,” said Amber.

When Amber was accepted into the Habitat program she started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. “Just completely blessed and fortunate,” said Amber. “This is for my children. I have been working hard to lift this burden and Habitat is helping me, which is a major sigh of relief.” Amber loves earning her sweat equity hours on our construction sites and ReStores. She hopes members of the community will consider picking up a hammer and volunteering with Habitat. “Just sign up and volunteer, you will meet so many great people and be inspired.” Head to the volunteer page to learn more.

Amber is excited to give her children a home that has plenty of space. She is also looking forward to a new kitchen. Most of all, there will be no need for moving boxes. “Once we are in our home, we are done. Goodbye rent and goodbye uncertainty,” said Amber. “No need to come around here anymore.”
