- Does Habitat Give Away Free Homes?
While our approach provides affordable solutions, homes are not given away for free. Partner families contribute sweat equity hours, pay an affordable mortgage, and invest in their homeownership journey.
Homebuyers purchase their home with a 0% APR mortgage, making affordable mortgage payments to achieve homeownership.
- Is Habitat Only for Single Mothers or People with Children?
We serve a diverse range of families, regardless of their composition. This includes single person households and individuals without children.
- Do Habitat Homes Bring Down Property Value?
Studies have shown that well-maintained Habitat homes often have a positive impact on property values.
- Do I have to have Perfect Credit to Apply for Habitat?
Habitat does not require perfect credit. However, you do need reasonably good credit. We consider families who demonstrate the ability to make regular payments on their bills.
