Homeowner Bio: The Rosario-Gonzalez Family

“I always prayed to have a place called home. I am building for my daughter Ariana.”

For Yeishka Rosario Gonzalez, a single mother and surgical technologist at Morton Plant Hospital, the dream of homeownership has always felt just out of reach. She and her 10-year-old daughter, Ariana, have been sharing a small, low-income apartment with a roommate, making it challenging for them to feel truly settled. “Having a place to call home has always been my dream,” Yeishka shares. The desire to provide a stable, loving environment for Ariana, where she could have her own space, led Yeishka to take a leap of faith and apply to the Habitat for Humanity program.

When Yeishka received the news that she had been accepted into the program, she was overjoyed. “We will finally have a place to call home. My prayers have been answered, and my daughter will have her own bedroom,” she recalls. The sense of relief and gratitude was overwhelming, as this opportunity would give her and Ariana the chance to create a stable foundation and build the memories they’ve always dreamed of. “This is truly a blessing for my daughter and I,” she adds.

Yeishka’s vision for her new home is filled with joy and anticipation. “I am looking forward to picking out colors, appliances, and making it my home,” she shares enthusiastically. She dreams of a space where Ariana can grow and where they can both create beautiful, lasting memories.

Life in a Habitat home means less stress and more happiness for Yeishka and Ariana. “Home is where my daughter and I will forever make beautiful memories,” Yeishka reflects. She envisions a future filled with laughter, warmth, and security—a place where they can truly settle down and thrive. “I am building because I always prayed to have a place called home. I am building for my daughter, Ariana.”
