Back-to-School Spotlight: Kyndel & Kaliel

Kyndel & Kaliel are starting out their school experience with VPK and Headstart and our Back-to-School Spotlights for the day.

At VPK, Kyndel is excited to get better at writing her name, learning how to read, and practicing her shapes and letters. At Headstart, Kaliel is eager to meet new friends, play, potty training, and eating. Kaliel loves to eat!

Their grandmother, Evette, is a Habitat homeowner and tells us “Going to school is important to me because they could learn things that I didn’t have time to teach at home. It helps them learn how to interact with others, helps them keep their mind focused on being something one day. Social skills, the ability to learn how to speak to others in a group setting when they get older. It’s important because they retain knowledge. It also helps them remember the things that have been taught at home.”

Having a home where children can grow and flourish is so important for a child’s education and future. With Habitat for Humanity, that is possible. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for the Habitat program, you can check out our Apply Page on our website for more information.
