“I want to give my daughter a stable home. A place that she can feel safe at all times.”
“I am a very family-oriented person. Family is everything to me,” said Regina. “I am a hard-working person, and my daughter and myself are hopeful and love to help others. If it wasn’t for my daughter, I would not be where I am today.”
Her daughter, De-Niia, loves to read, write, and loves cheerleading. They both currently live with Regina’s mother. She just lost her father to cancer in 2019, leaving the home to be very difficult to live in for them.
“When I first received my acceptance email, I shed tears of joy, because I’ve always told my father that I am going to make him proud.”
Regina says that earning her sweat equity hours has taught her hard work, dedication, and how to pay close attention to detail. She wants to learn to build and fix parts of her own home, as well as others. “Volunteering is great opportunity to help out others, and give back to the community.”
“Our future will be different in our Habitat home, because I will be able to provide stability for my daughter. I am looking forward to giving her a beautiful room, having family nights, and cooking meals for my family. Most of all, I am building because my daughter and I deserve this home…our home.”
