“4 in 24” – Habitat to celebrate four home dedications in 24 hours
Habitat Home dedications to take place in St. Pete and New Port Richey this week.
Clearwater, FL – Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties will celebrate four partner families earning their Habitat Homes in 24 hours on Thursday, May 30th, and Friday, May 31st. The Thursday home dedications will occur in St. Petersburg and the Friday home dedications will be in New Port Richey.
Each family completed the Habitat homeownership program, which requires between 350-450 sweat equity hours and 36 homebuyer education classes. Habitat Pinellas and West Pasco is one of the top three Habitat affiliates in the nation for new home builds each year. There are roughly 1,100 Habitat affiliates in the country. The average affiliate dedicates four homes in a year. Habitat Pinellas and West Pasco will dedicate four homes in 24 hours this week.
On Thursday, May 30th, The Bradley Family and the Banyeretse Family will earn the keys to their Habitat Homes in St. Petersburg.
The Bradley Family is led by single mom, Amber, who is building for her three children to have a safe place to liver. Currently, the Bradley Family is living in rundown home with dangerous electrical issues and foundation issues. Amber says the Habitat program is help her “lift this burden, which is a major sigh of relief.” The Bradley Family will celebrate their home dedication on Thursday, May 30th, at 9:00 am at 3135 Queensboro Ave., St. Petersburg, FL 33712.
The Banyeretse Family features mom Diane, and her two boys who are excited to have the space to run around in their yard and explore nature. Diane is looking forward to no longer having to tell her boys that they have to move to a new place again. “I want the boys to have a solid foundation that they call home,” said Diane. The Banyeretse Family will open the door to their forever home at their home dedication on Thursday, May 30th, at 10:00 am at 1739 43rd St. S., St. Petersburg, FL 33711.
On Friday, May 31st, the Tanksley Family and the Rodriguez Family will realize the dream of homeownership with their home dedications taking place in New Port Richey.
The Tanksley Family is ready to, once again, be a family. Greg and Cherrice Tanksley have been living apart for the last four years due to homelessness. Their love has endured and their mission has been to find a way to own a home and be together. This couple will achieve the dream of homeownership on Friday, May 31st, at their home dedication at 9:00 am at 9345 Teak St., New Port Richey, FL 34654.
The Rodriguez Family is single-man, Leonel, who is finally doing something for himself after being called to serve others. “Leo” is excited to own his own home and create a legacy in his home. “I needed that push back to the middle where I did put myself first and want more for myself.” Leo will unlock the door to his home, and his future at 10:00 am at 9159 Outpost Dr., New Port Richey, FL 34654.
