200th Milestone Homeowner Bio: The Dawson Family

“Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful blessing for families to be able to have.”

Back in 2010, Tina Dawson and her family closed on the Habitat home, making them the 200th Milestone Homeowners. Becoming a homeowner was not only life changing for Tina, but also her four sons. “They are all adults now, but I think that having their own space to decorate their rooms how they wanted it and not having to share with someone else made a big difference.” At the 200th home dedication, The Dawson Family’s key to the home was proudly presented by Jane Dunaway, Habitat of Pinellas and West Pasco’s first homeowner back in 1985. It took Jane 2 1/2 years to build and move into her home. Now, in 2021 as we approach our 700th dedication, it takes our organization as little as seven weeks to build a home!

Tina is so happy that she reapplied for the program when she did. For the past 11 years, she has been able to have a 0% interest mortgage which helps keep her home affordable. She is also glad that they no longer have to take trips to the laundromat. This has allowed to the family to save more money for family time and vacations where they can create special memories with one another.

Join us for our 700th home dedication for the Sakers Family on August 30th, 2021. View more about the event here.
